Belmont Shore

Belmont Shore is known by many as the place to be if you want to stay youthful. You’re close to several local shops and restaurants that attract a wide variety of people. Since it is so close to the beach, you’ll always see active people running along the bike path, surfing the break, or taking their dog to the Dog Beach.

This area also contains a very conscientious and safe group of homeowners and renters. The area is beautiful, and everyone does their part to keep it that way from keeping the streets clean from trash to keeping an eye out for each other when unknown beach goers hit the area during the peak Summer beach season. This is a great area to take the kids and the dog out to the beach and enjoy the ocean breeze.

 

Naples

Naples is a neighborhood of Long Beach, California, built on the three islands in Alamitos Bay. The islands are divided by canals which open into the bay. A popular location for neighbors and visitors is the beautiful fountain in the center of Naples. Arthur Parson built the islands of Naples in 1903 in the marshy Bixby Slough of Alamitos Bay. The project was completed in the 1920s, then rebuilt after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake. There is so much to love about Naples, including Overlook Park (aka Naples Plaza) and La Bella Fontana di Napoli park. Water activities abound with boating, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and more. There are numerous special events throughout the year, including the Christmas boat parade and gondola tours through the romantic Naples canal.

Belmont Heights

Belmont Heights is known as a calm neighborhood just a few blocks in from the beach. It is known to have a variety of architectural houses including Victorian, Spanish Colonial Revival, Mediterranean, Neo-Traditional, and Tudor Revival to name a few.

Along with the calmer neighborhoods comes several elementary, and middle schools to choose from, as well as the famous Woodrow Wilson Classical High School. With the multitude of great schools to choose from, this makes it a great place to raise a growing family.

SPINNAKER BAY

Spinnaker Bay is a fabulous marina community in Long Beach, California. Spinnaker Bay features larger homes, most with boat docks, that generally sell for $1.3M – $2M. This well-established community attracts interest from buyers looking to enjoy activities on the water. Dunster Marine Biological Reserve is located within the community. Spinnaker Coves is a small community on the marina just kitty corner from Spinnaker Bay.

These neighborhoods offer convenient access to shopping, dining, and numerous local events. Marine Stadium is located on the back side of Spinnaker Bay. This world premier waterskiing facility was the site of the 1932 Olympic Rowing competition and the 1968 Olympic Rowing trials. Marine Stadium hosts rowing races and many other fun events throughout the year.

 

Bay Harbor

Bay Harbour is a gated community that was built in the 1980’s and is located on the waterfront in Long Beach, California.  This neighborhood adjacent to the Long Beach Marina is hard to beat as you are within walking distance to local restaurants and the Marina Pacifica shopping center.

The large majority of homes in this community are two story homes with a few select one story homes.  A number of the homes in this community are  located directly on the waterfront. There are 198 single family homes with three to five bedrooms.  Square footages ranges from 2,234 to 4,379 square feet. The community is under a homeowners association with fairly low monthly dues.

 

Los Altos

Los Altos is a quiet residential neighborhood with shopping at the Los Altos Shopping Center, which has a Target, Sears, Trader Joe’s, Lazy Acres grocery store, LA Fitness, and many other shops, stores and delicious local restaurants.

Los Altos is located near Florence Bixby Elementary School, Minnie Gant Elementary School, Stanford Middle School and Robert A. Millikan High School. The Los Altos YMCA is located on Bellflower Boulevard and The California State University at Long Beach is in Los Altos.

 

SOUTH OF CONANT

South of Conant, referred to as “SoCo” by local residents, is a neighborhood located in Long Beach, California. Seeking a single-family home that is family friendly and pet friendly in an area with good schools? This is a wonderful community to consider, with homes representing a wide variety of time periods and styles. Homes in South of Conant generally sell for $600,000 – $990,000 and sit on nice size lots. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a 2-car garage are common in this neighborhood.

Looking for a place to have a picnic or barbecue? Wardlow Park has fabulous picnic areas with two playgrounds, basketball courts, softball and soccer fields.  South of Conant neighborhood is located just north of Spring Street, south of Conant Street, east of Clark Avenue, and west of Woodruff Avenue.

 

Plaza

Plaza is a Long Beach, California neighborhood bordered by Spring St., Studebaker Rd., Stearns St., and Palo Verde Ave. This half-mile square area was originally built as part of the Lakewood, California subdivision Lakewood Plaza. In March, 1953, residents of Lakewood Plaza voted to annex the area into Long Beach.

DEL LAGO

Del Lago is a gated community in southern section of Long Beach, California.  This exclusive community features 125 single family homes.  Some homes in this community have waterfront views of the Sims pond which is an ecological reserve. This is a great location just blocks from Long Beach Marina with local shopping and restaurants just minutes away.

The Mediterranean style residences feature a combination of three to five bedrooms and average 2,700 square feet of living space. Marina pacifica
